Columbarium

The Columbarium located in the historic Mt. Gilead Cemetery has been custom built with native rock that was laid by a local master mason and black granite to retain the natural look and feel of the cemetery that dates back to the 19th century. The Columbarium, which is a respectful and dignified space to house and protect cremated remains, was designed to be a place to honor and remember your loved ones. The first phase has been completed and consists of 200 individual stainless steel niche encasements with black granite faceplates. The Columbarium master plan hosts a total capacity of 800 niches with room for future expansion.

Mt. Gilead Cemetery is overseen by the Mt. Gilead Cemetery Association and its board members are compromised of volunteer community leaders. The Cemetery Association believes that its Columbarium will provide a peaceful final resting place for a new generation of those in and around the Keller community. The project was headed by the board members of the Mt. Gilead Cemetery Association in partnership with Jimmy Lucas of Lucas Funeral Homes.
